Learning Tools Interoperability Support (BETA)
Release 6.8 includes new configuration options to support the Learning Tools Interoperability framework. This framework provides a standard method by which assignments in learning tool consumers, such as eSchoolData, can be linked to assessments in learning tool providers for the purposes of administration and data synchronization. Once a new learning tool provider has been configured, teachers will have the ability to link assignments to assessments in the learning tool provider product. A new link from the assignment detail calendar view within the Student Portal will allow users to launch the assessment from the learning tool provider. Once a student launches and completes the assessment, the grade will be automatically synced to the linked assignment in the Teacher Connect Gradebook. This integration can be used with any third party product that supports LTI v1.1.
Teacher Connect Enhancements
Version 6.8 includes a number of enhancements to the Teacher Connect interface based on end-user feedback. The new MP Summary report, available from Teacher Connect Gradebook, provides a new output that includes student name, attendance tallies, grades and comments for the selected marking period, and final course and exam grades (when applicable). The new Roster Summary report, available from Teacher Connect Roster, provides a new output that includes student name, nickname, gender, enter date, grade, homeroom, and counselor. When the “Always display combined rosters” option is selected from Teacher Connect Attendance Roster, students enrolled in classes that meet during the same period will be displayed alphabetically in a single list.
Online Registration Auditing
With the release of version 6.8, registrars and administrators can easily track the progress of online registration applications. The new Last Modified By column, available from the Online Application results list, presents the last user to update the status of the application. This attribute has also been added to the search criteria filter, allowing staff to easily filter the results list for only those applications that have been updated by a specific user. Finally, changes to online registration application statuses are now audited, and available from the Audit Table report.
The new Remind Zap is available with the release of version 6.8. This zap provides a collection of export files developed to the Remind specification, including student, staff, section, roster, and demographic data, so that districts can easily provision accounts within Remind. The zap can be configured to extract this information on a scheduled basis, ensuring that your data remains synchronized between eSchoolData and Remind.
