Health Screening Enhancements
With the release of version 6.3, health administrators can easily document and track lice screenings for their student population. This new screening type, available from the individual student entry page as well as the Screening Mass Entry tool, allows district staff to collect a variety of details, including date administered, administrator, results, comments, and referral information. The results of lice screenings can be reviewed from the Screenings/Referrals report, allowing health administrators to easily identify those students who still require a screening, and those that require additional follow-ups.
Student Homeroom Information
Version 6.3 includes the ability to capture and store additional information about student homeroom assignments. The newly added Homeroom Teacher and Homeroom Class fields, available from the student registration page, allow districts to identify these assignments in addition to the room number. The Mass Student Info Update tool and the GURU Homeroom data rule have also been enhanced to automatically populate these fields based on each student’s scheduled class during the selected meeting times. This new information can be exported for all students using the Data Tables, or shared with third party vendors using the GET students end point within the GURU API.
Attendance Letter Builder Enhancements
The Attendance Letter Builder has been enhanced to provide additional customization options. Districts can now include information about student advisors using the newly added available field from the Rich Text Widget. In addition, the new Cumulative Attendance widget provides a tally of total student period absences and or tardies for a specified date range, allowing districts to easily communicate student attendance trends.
Mass Class Assignment Enhancements
Districts can easily filter student populations for the purposes of assigning them to classes en masse. The new Special Education Status filter, available from the Select Student tab within the Mass Class Assignment tool, allows users to sort the Source Student list for those students who have a matching status. Like all status filters, the availability of this new feature is limited to those users with the appropriate permissions.
