Welcome to Release 5.7!
Welcome to eSD 5.7! This release includes a number of new features that are designed to enhance scheduling workflows, promote communication and automation, support customization, and more.
- Scheduling Dashboard provides district staff with graphical analyses of pre- and post-run scheduling data.
- GURU Notification and Data Management tools automate rules-based data updates and staff notifications.
- Custom District Login Page allows administrators to modify the eSD landing page for their staff.
- User Requested Enhancements have been incorporated into the Discipline, Teacher Connect, and Grade Reporting modules based on your feedback.
Version 5.7 includes the production release of the new Scheduling Dashboard. This tool, available from the Scheduling Runs interface, consolidates and simplifies the tasks commonly performed during the scheduling process. In addition, it provides district staff with graphical analyses of pre and post-run scheduling data, giving them the information that they need to optimize the results.
This version includes a number of enhancements based on end-user feedback. Users can now select from a variety of layouts, allowing them to customize the dashboard to present the data that is most important to them. Filters have been incorporated into widgets, allowing users to quickly identify results based on department, course type, request priority, and more. The data presented within each widget can now be exported to Excel for further analysis. New widgets present variance in seat fulfillment across course section, resulting student free times, and available seats and assigned seats by period.
All eSD users will be able to preview this tool for the remainder of the academic year.
eSD GURU Notifications and Data Management
With the release of version 5.7, eSD GURUBoard subscribers will enjoy a number of new tools that are designed to promote communication and automation. Districts will have the ability to create automatic email notifications for individuals or groups of staff based on a variety of criteria, including student, contact, attendance, messaging, and eSchoolPortal updates. Tasks that previously required manual intervention, including creating integration IDs, assigning homerooms, calculating marking period grades, and more, can now be automated using the new data rules feature.
Custom District Login Page
Administrators can now create a custom landing page for their district staff. With the release of version 5.7, each district can define a custom URL, add district-specific instructions to the login page, and update the background image. These changes are the first step towards implementing LDAP support, which will be introduced in a future release.
