Welcome to Release 5.0!
Welcome to eSD 5.0! This release includes a number of new features that are designed to reduce the overhead associated with collecting and updating student information, synchronize student assignment data across products, and manage the Teacher Connect interface.
- Online Registration allows districts to collect registration data for new and existing families via the Parent Portal.
- Gradebook Import Tools synchronize student assignment and grade data between eSD and third party products.
- Teacher Connect Management Tools allow building administrators to align Teacher Connect options with district policies.
- User Requested Enhancements have been incorporated into the eSchoolPortal, Scheduling, and Grade Reporting modules based on your feedback.
With the release of version 5.0, districts can now collect registration applications for new and existing families via the Parent Portal. The new Online Registration Form Builder allows administrators to create custom forms based on the information their district collects during the registration process. These forms can be accessed by new applicants and existing families via the Parent Portal. Upon completion, the applications can be retrieved by the registrar’s office for review once all supporting documentation has been provided. Registrars will have the ability to accept the household, student, guardian, and emergency contact data from the Acceptance Interface, eliminating the burden of data entry on district staff.
Gradebook Import Tools
Version 5.0 includes a number of tools that are designed to synchronize student assignment and grade data between third party products and eSD. The Teacher Connect Gradebook Import tool has been enhanced to support the import of assignments and grades for individual Gradebooks from a variety of sources, including Google Apps for Education. eSD GURU users will enjoy the benefits of the new Gradebook Zap, which automatically imports all assignment and grade data from third party applications, eliminating the need for teachers to individually manage their gradebooks between products.
Teacher Connect Management Tools
Version 5.0 gives administrators a variety of tools designed to align Teacher Connect options with district policies. The new Teacher Connect Toolkit interface provides a number of capabilities, including creating and applying building-level Gradebook Templates, defining default Teacher Connect settings, and restricting available grading methods within the Gradebook Setup page.
User Requested Enhancements
- Parent Portal Sign-Offs
Schools can collect sign-offs, such as internet permission forms, periodically throughout the academic year via the Online Contact Verification forms.
- Course Pre-Requisites
Administrators can define pre-requisites based on a variety of criteria, including current and previous course outcomes, assessment scores, student averages, and more.
- Transcript Precision
A new Transcript option allows districts to display weighted previous course grades rounded to the hundredth decimal.
