The annual eSD® Art Contest runs regionally in NY during the school year, for students in districts utilizing the eSchoolData Student Information System. Contestants are required to submit works of art that focus on a specific theme relative to current educational topics. Students are allowed to submit either a photograph or a scanned image of a drawing. Cash prizes are awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place, and for up to 4 honorable mentions. In addition, the artwork of the current regional contest’s first place winner appears on the eSchoolData login page until the next regional contest’s winners are announced, and all winning submissions are displayed in the Artists Gallery on the eSchoolData corporate website.
The 2017-18 contest’s entry submission period ran from November 2017 through December 2017, and its theme was Art in STEM. Students created images that illustrated how the principles and aesthetics of Art are reflected in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics.
